McBride Hereford Ranches, Inc.

Our story begins with a man, his faith, and a dream...

Gordon McBride
A young Clarence McBride wanted to attend business college, but his family persuaded him to buy a team of horses instead. He did not have a love for farming- his dream was a cattle ranch of his own. Clarence worked his way up from a pocket watch to ten cows. He would often trade and have smart ways to expand his farming and ranching operations. His original brand of seven six was registered in 1920, the rest you could say...is history.

Located in Eastern Washington, much of the original land holdings exist today. The terrain is high prairie, consisting of rolling hills with sage and deep canyons with rocky terrain. The perfect place to raise horses and cattle!

The ranch raised Hereford cattle, holding annual sales of it's registered bulls. A shift was made to a commercial herd of Angus x Hereford crosses and a background feeding program. We now focus on our commercial herd and feeding our own calves, along with our horse program.

Horses have always been integral to the ranch. Clarance's son, Gordon, followed his passion of breeding his own American Quarter Horses and set the foundation for what our program is today. It was Gordon's dream to one day solely run the horses and train them, however, he went to be with our Father in Heaven in 2000. His daughter Doris, her husband Gary, and their son, Eric, with his wife, Becky, currently make a family affair of operating the ranch. There are also two little ranchers in training making the sixth generation.

In 2009, Eric interned under trainer and clinician, Ken McNabb. Since then , Eric has developed his own style with the same wonderful foundation. We offer prospects as weanlings up to seasoned ranch horses. Learn more about the horses under the Our Horses tab!

In everything we do, we give thanks to the Lord. What an honor and blessing it is to raise quality beef to feed the world and horses to keep traditions alive.
